In one sense Osama bin Ladan was successful in diverting moneys in our country to military spending and away from more important issues.

I was struck by the memorial, thus far at ground zero in New York City. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one knows the hole it leaves in your being. That square hole with the water pouring into a smaller one is incredibly symbolic of the loss we feel. As one commentator said, "not intended by the artists and develops is the rainbow that appears at certain times from the waters of this site.

I hope and pray that the unity felt in the country, as in all times of sadness can be regained and put toward useful purposes. Not for revenge but for helping each other heal and working for the common good.
