Yesterday my good wife Doreen decided to given our cats some
freedom and let them out of my Shackteau where they have resided over the
winter. Then, the rest of the day she worried about them; me too. We figured
we’d get them back when they got hungry and we did; one, then and another and
eventually the third late in the evening. Whew!
Then I came out this morning and whish, Patchtrcia snuck out the
door. Of course, the others are standing by the door looking wistfully out the
window and whining.
We hate the idea of being responsible for these little critters,
which impede and desire for our winter nomadic ways, but they also stole our
hearts so we live in a state of constant ambivalence.
Cats are meant to be indoor-outdoor. Put in a cat door and let them come and go.
ReplyDeleteThat's just my opinion. But I'm glad to hear they are bringing so much joy into your life!
ReplyDeleteAll cats are back in the Shacteau, Doreen captured Patchtricia this morning. A cat door wouldn't really work in my Shackteau as it really is more than a shack; completely insulated, lots of windows, a fireplace, 30 feet of book shelves, 3 to 4 computers, exercise equipment. So likely the raccoons and possums etc. would likely make full use of it. We are now deciding whether they will be house cats or outside cats. I have place for a two room cathouse with windows, insulation, and patio. Yeah, we like them. You can see a bit of the Shackteau on the right of our craigslist listing. http://lacrosse.craigslist.org/reo/3723372053.html,
