Yeah, everybody sick and tired of all the
negative political ads and we have a long way to go before they go away and
then they won’t stay away. But I do wish we knew more about the source of these
ads. The ads blare away and then at the end somebody mumbles that ….brought you
the announcement; which tells you nothing.
I read recently (I forgot my source) that a
bunch of “non-profits” organizations pop up, which swear they won’t do anything
political, then they run a bunch of political ads, disband and start a new one.
It’s obviously illegal but the IRS does not have the time, personal, or the
mandate to pursue them.
Some of the Ads come from the Super PACs
with meaningless names. Who is “Restore our Future”, “Priorities USA”, or “Winning
our Future”?
Bill Moyer says that we can download an app
from AD Hawk [http://adhawk.sunlightfoundation.com/]or Super PAC App [http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2012/08/super-pac-app-the-shazam-for-political-attack-ads/]
which allows you to hold your phone up to
the television during an attack ad to see a profile of the group that is
footing the bill. They report how much the group has raised and spent.
It makes me wish I had a smart phone but
mine is really dumb.

ReplyDeleteThe latest one I heard about on talk radio was "Patriot Majority".
Sounds like Tea Party terms, right? No. This one was organized specifically to launch personal attacks on the Koch brothers.
Prince Harry isn't the only political type running naked . Not sure if it is repressed
ReplyDeleteborn again southern baptist behavior...but we also learn
that the GOP conventioneers spend 3x the $$ as dems at
host city strip clubs. (and they complain about Biden)
