Cats and Congress

There is a Irish limerick entitled “Fight like Kilkeeny Cats, based on the concept of folk fighting until all are dead. Legend has it that in ancient Kilkenny, on the River Nore is south-east Ireland, bored soldiers would tied tow cats together for sport until they killed each other. Well not all Irish are brilliant. This is the limerick:

There wanst was two cats of Kilkenny
Each thought there was one cat too many
So they fought and they fit
And they scratched and they bit
‘Till instead of two cats there weren’t any.

Now in my minds eye the limerick reminds me of our congress who are filled with intractable positions that if they continue, may hurt, even destroy our economy and the rest of the world’s economy along with it. The latest polls say 70% of our citizens give congress a disapproval rating. I wonder what’s with the 30% that don’t.

As Forest Gump said, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

This stupidity may lead to more than dead cats.
