Bernie Sanders, Vermont’s senator claims that 6 of 10 believe there
should be more equity in wealth distribution. He is right and according to
Gallup polls he has been right for over three decades.
Now my question is why is it only 60%* of our citizens complaining
about this. Robert Reich in a recent blog points out that if most Americans
incomes had kept pace with our economic growth over the last 3 decades the
median income today would be over $90,000. There would be plenty of taxes for
needed programs etc. Instead a lot of people complain that we just live beyond
our means and are now paying the price. In reality it seem the ultra rich have
taken our means for the middle class has taken it…
Bernie Sanders is right. Now if just had a few more congressional
representatives that got his point and did something about it, the middle class
would have something to celebrate.
Economically the country is doing fine, it just most our citizens
don’t share the bounty equally.
* for those who want to keep track of the politics of this 8 of 10
democrats see this distribution of wealth issue compared to 28% over
Republicans.
