We hate
government spending programs; at least 73% of us do according to a Gallup Poll
last April. We hate excessive government spending and the deficit and we want
to reduce that deficit by spending cuts. Right?
Most of
our government spending goes to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. So, we
want to get rid of those or reduce them right? Wrong. We really want to keep
those programs. It’s just all that regulation they require. But then that is
just a small part of their expense. What we really want is stronger regulations
to keep people from abusing those programs. We’re confused.
So here’s
a chart to show how we look at this:
We don’t
like regulations in principle but when it comes down to it we want them and
need them.
Ah there
is paradox is government as well.
