FROM THE MUSICAL: CATELOT

Princess Patchtricia

What do the simple cats or humans do
Not living in a house or even a Schacteau
The feral cat flailing in the snow
The Tom Cat wailing for a coo
And what of the human lacking fur, oh what a burr
Dogs yapping and snipping at a curr
Al those who are not to be feline
‘Tis awful and terribly so terribly unkind.
How do they manage, the ordinary cat
With hardly ever a pat
Or human with just an empty lap
Oh what do the simple cats and humans do?

King Lamont

In my studies of other felines and species I dwell
And see they have their very own ways, and well
When they are down and blue, they look for me and for you
And our deep and purring ways, helps them make do
That’s what the simple cats do
I hope I hope it is true.

Princess Pawline

They purr?

King Lamont

In a way

Princess Pawline

And what about the skinless critters too
No fur to lick and slick just goo it up with shampoo
The hairless are a an awful fright
Naked they sleep throughout the night
Cold and needed the warmth of me or you
To keep them warm and happy too
They must live in deep despair
Those lacking any hair
Oh what do the skinless critter do?
Have they have they any clue?
Oh boo hoo.

King Lamont

Within our house we have we do
Human servants one and two
Mewreen and her spouse Meugh
They seem quite happy in their way
And why not I dare say
For they have the likes of us
Pawline, Patrichia and King Lamont
And upon us they do dote
That makes a happy note.
That is what the simple humans do.

Princess Patchtricia

They purr?

King Lamont

They pet

Princiesses Patchtricia and Pawline in two cat harmony

Arise all cats and four legged critters near and far
Come by bus, plane, van, pet carrier or car
Come to this Fountain City fair
Upon the Mississippi River there
And observe the wonders of our cat castle where
The hairless human servants  strive to care
For we, the royals of Catdom glow and bask
For that is what  it is we royal cats do.

And though you may not have it a nice as we
Observe and think what possibilities be
For common cats or two legged hairless beings with hats
Come to us and dream the dreams
Of lives like ours with milk and cream
For that is what the simple cats do
And human the humble humans too.

Mew, mew.
